Morning guys,

i have had a look through the forums and cant seem to find an answer to my query. I have just purchased the T8s and using Kodi on both Android and Openelec. I have set up my folders to share from my NAS without any problem but I cannot figure out how to get the audio to output the formats as per my thread title. I have a file that does show as having 7.1 DTS on screen when playing but when i go into the audio option there is only 5.1 which streams as PCM. Files with Dolby 5.1 play correctly.

I am using a Yamaha RX V675 which does support the format.

I have tried via HDMI and optical but have had no joy on either connection, just to rule out the NAS i put the same file onto a portable hard drive but still get the same thing.

Ideally I would like to sort this on the Openelec OS and get 7.1 through Optical

any help is greatly appreciated.

You'll find there not many DTS HD and Dolby 7.1 as it takes up to much space up. Most are 5.1, I got a Denon amp and 6.1 set up for SACD. I set my amp so it change the 5.1 to output 6.1. Hope this helps....

Hi David,

the file i tried is one i have on a hard drive and not streamed and it does contain DTSHD-MA 7.1

this was one of the reasons i purchased this box as when i used the online chat prior to purchasing, i was told it will output 7.1 When i play the file in Kodi it shows as being DTS Master HD and 7.1 on the graphics so it is picking the fact up, but the box wont output this.

Have you tried going to setting in android(two cogs) and there you can set up the Audio for DTS HD. You can also set it to passthrough and how you want it sent ie, PCM.
In Kodi in system then system and Audio you can do the same here, but make sure you set it to 2.0 as this is how it sent, and your amp converts it to the right code.
Hope this helps you
