How long ago did you purchase the Q7? If you do a full factory reset and leave the device alone for 20 minutes, everything should be re-installed.
See this blog post - https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/how-to-access-your-droidboxs-recovery-menu/ - for details on how to bring up the recovery menu. Select Wipe data/factory reset, confirm you're certain, then wait for it to complete. Once you've rebooted, complete any set up screens that may be presented, and once at your launcher's homescreen, leave the Q7 alone for a good 20 minutes. Then re-run the DroidBOX Wizard - https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/droidbox-wizard-update-oct-2014/ and don't forget to sign back into the Play Store and allow automatic updates - https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/googles-play-store-signing-in-and-auto-updates/
If you purchased your Q7 a long time ago, let us know, we'll think of a different approach.

Hi thanks for the reply it's under a year old.
Not able to access the recovery menu,
Shutdown from the main screens off button... Waited till power down. Disconnected power lead.
Held the reset button in and attached power connector still holding the button over 60sec And no sign of the recovery menu .
Any other way to access the recovery menu cheers for the help.

Also when holding the reset button while attaching the power cable, it triggers a screen saying,
Installing System Update below the droid character with the cogs turning inside. If this helps
Then it loads up normal with no xbmc or any droidbox wizard anywhere on the file explorer. And no sign of the android recovery menu while following the Q7 procedure. Cheers !!

Can you double check if you have a microSD card inserted in your Q7, or a USB storage device? I've not yet come across a firmware (or recovery partition/system) on the Q7 that does anything other than enter the recovery menu when the reset switch is held down, the power lead reattached and the Q7 turned on (if it doesn't occur automatically).

If that doesn't help, open ES File Explorer. If that isn't in your list of installed apps, sign into the Play Store - https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/googles-play-store-signing-in-and-auto-updates/ - search for and then install ES File Explorer.
Once it is available, open ES File Explorer, click on the /Device link on the left of the screen, then navigate to /system/preinstall . You can open each APK file there that has the name of an app that you want to have reinstalled.

Just got my brand new Q7 last night! FYI the remote that comes with it doesn't work for WiFi use. The Canadian distributor I bought it from wasn't aware of this but has reported the glitch. I did however, order the air mouse remote as well and it works. That said I had fun checking out xbmc before heading to bed. Today I wanted to try ShowBox and in doing so installed the update as advised. Then it wouldn't work at all! Being a smarty pants I thought doing a factory data reset (under settings/backup/reset) would solve the problem. Now however, I don't have ShowBox at all even the original one (without the faulty update) and as well I no longer have the wonderful xbmc that I had last night! What I have now is just the droidbox character with a menu under it for pictures/vidoes/music/programs/system.... what I had out of the box last night was a full xbmc with movies etc. Help me to restore my droidbox please!!

have another look at it after 20 mins or so, it takes a while to load up all the apps, in my case XBMC seems to be the last one it loads, good luck, mat., don't forget to run the DroidBox wizard :)

It looks like the server our DroidBOX Wizard files are stored on had a hiccup last night. I only noticed low download speeds, but it sounds as though the server then fell over completely. If you had problems yesterday, please re-run the Wizard.
After a factory reset, it can take 15-20 minutes for all the applications to reinstall.

I'm not aware of a glitch being reported to us about a remote control not working for WiFi use, could you elaborate a little more please? Which remote control, and when does it not work?
Re Show Box, we've had reports that their latest update has actually stopped it working. If you have a problem like this again, you can uninstall the updates or original app from your device, and just reinstall the original version of the app, rather than an entire factory reset ( e-mail us if you need details - [email protected] ). btw, you weren't being a smarty pants, just experimenting. Without trial and error, most of us will never take on board new information. I first became seriously interested in technical support after (apparently) killing the first PC I ever owned. Trying to hide the error from my parents and discovering that config.sys entries couldn't be transposed to the autoexec.bat file probably taught me more than an entire year at university many years later!

Sounds as though you're using the DroidSticks wizard there, when it asks for a user name and password.
Re "rebooting", literally, as in turned off and then on again, or some other procedure? Did you try wiping the XBMC data step linked to from that blog post?
If you still get the DroidBOX Wizard with script errors, exit XBMC and open the browser app. Let us know if you're able to see a website OK. If your modem came from your ISP, keep an eye out for a message from them when you visit a website. If necessary, visit your modem/router's IP address in the browser on your DroidBOX. This (and logging in with the user name/pwd printed on the side or bottom the modem/router normally, along with the default IP address you should type into the Browser or Chrome app.

That isn't our Wizard.
You are most likely clicking on the DroidSTICKS Wizard. We're DroidBOX. Our Wizard doesn't yet require user/pwd.
Re your modem/router's default IP address, try visiting these sites in your DroidBOX's browser, one of them is most likely to work:

http://192.168.0.1
http://192.168.0.254
http://192.168.1.1
http://192.168.1.254

If there isn't a label with default user/pwd for your Modem/Router, then google the make and model along with DEFAULT USER and you should find the answer.
