I've just received my X7 today and set it up. Everything is going great apart from the following, the pictures on Youtube and Netflix both jump a lot and also the sound is very low when played through my television. Any suggestions?

Is your X7 connected directly to your TV, and if so, via an HDMI cable?

Have you turned up the volume to the maximum on your X7?

In terms of YouTube and Netflix, do they pause a lot and play in fits and starts, or play continuously without any pausing, but the video jerks? If you use the YouTube add-on in XBMC, does that work any better than the YouTube standalone Android application?

The X7 is connected directly via an HDMI cable and the volume is fully turned up on the X7. Both Youtube and Netflix play continuously without pausing but the picture flickers. I will try the different Youtube applications to see if there's a difference.

Does your TV have volume offset settings per input maybe? Might be worth a check.
Re the picture flickering, let us know if the YouTube XBMC add-on exhibits the same behaviour.
It might be worth trying a different refresh rate or resolution on your X7...

The exact labels used will differ depending on which firmware you have on your device.
In general, click on a settings icon if you have one. If not, open the list of all currently installed Android applications, and scroll until you find Settings, and click on it.

If you have a black background, then look for entries titled Screen and/or Display. Now look for HDMI mode. If the resolution/refresh rate are set to auto, turn that off. Now change the mode to something different. If NOTHING appears on your screen, don't click anything on your remote, and the device will revert to your previous settings. If you can see a message asking if you want to keep this new mode, confirm you do. Try the different 1080 and 720 modes, see if the Android app for YouTube and Netflix still glash.

If you have a colourful settings screen, head to the last tab and click on the More or Advanced Settings button, then follow the steps in the previous paragraph.
