Approach with caution!

Board info - Useful if you are troubleshooting your device/an app with someone who hasn't worked with Android boxes before. You can discover some information about your device, though as our devices are not mobile phones, a few fields don't apply.

Fix Permissions - If you find that an application suddenly starts Force Closing (FC), this application can help by realigning registered UIDs to applications.

ZDBox - Useful for batch processes of application management, cleaning out unneeded junk data, but it is probably worth disabling the fuctions that only help on phones/devices with a SIM card and battery, to save on RAM and CPU time taken up. I've not yet tried it on our devices, but the App Lock might be useful if you want to restrict little eyes from watching too much TV! It is worth checking out the various widget configurations possible if you often clear caches/want to boost your available RAM

CCleaner - Nowhere near as polished or proficient as the Windows version, but if you're determined to clean out junk files and have already run SD Maid and ZDBox then it can't harm to use a 3rd similar app.

Titanium Backup - If you have a highscore you're proud of in a game, a carefully planned configuration in an app, or have applications that weren't installed via the Google Play store, Titanium Backup can backup and then restore apps and their data when you perform a factory reset or flash a new firmware. You can also use it to transfer data for an app from one device to another, but you may find this doesn't always work perfectly, especially if the Android version on each device is different by a revision or two.

QuickBoot (Reboot) - This doesn't work on all our models or their firmwares, but if you want to be able to shutdown/reboot/boot into recovery mode then install the app and try it out. If it works, drop a shortcut to the app on your launcher's homescreen and you're ready to go.

Rotation Lock Adaptive - If you find an old or badly written application doesn't display well in the landscape HD format DroidBOX devices present to your TV, then this program may be able to help. I found it helped with one game, but the other still refuses to orient sensibly.

Here Be Dragons!

App Ops Starter - This only work on firmwares based on Android 4.3 - 4.4.1 as Google has since removed the "hidden" capability to define precisely which permssions each installed application has. If you find it works on your firmware, then you can use it on applications that you don't trust 100% with every permission they demand from your and your device. Obviously, if the app stops working, you'll need to re-enable the permissions one at a time until you find the critical one.

BusyBox - If you play around with your device a lot, and have ever found that one application requires BusyBox to be installed, then this is the app you need to install it.

SD Maid - I've put this other storage area cleaner into the Here Be Dragons section of this post, as you can easily necessaitate a factory reset/firmware reflash if you delete the wrong files. However, it is still included as it is very versatile, and handy to have installed if you want to clear space or trouble shoot. As an example, if you've noticed that a configuration change in an app causes unpredictable behaviour, and want to check the configuration file manually, then you can use SD Maid to check which files were changed most recently.
