HELP! No remote

Stupidly I packed my q7 box up to take to my parents place for the weekend and left the remote behind All the smartphone remote apps seem to need me to download a server onto the box first, which obviously I can't do. Any suggestions? The box still has its dongle in which came with the remote, the remote charger lead and I've got my nexus 5.

Not sure if it would work but I would try a computer mouse if you have got one lying around.

A bit late now (I've been on holiday), but in case anyone else comes across this thread in the future, you can indeed plug in a USB mouse, keyboard, trackball (or in some cases even a USB gamepad) and control your DroidBOX device this way.
