Hello there Paul,, dont you have XBMC installed in your device? What model have you got by the way? How about the other preinstalled Android apps like ShowBox , MobDro or Youtube, do you have them in your device, are they working properly?
XBMC is installed, the GUI is fine in terms of menu and button display, but the video playback itself is garbled.
1st possibility - strange acceleration options have some how become set (open the System menu, change the normal settings to advanced in the bottom left I think. You may need to first enter a menu section that contains advanced settings. Play with any you find under System>Video>Acceleration and System>System>Video Output.
If that doesn't help (you may need to restart XBMC for changes to be applied), try clearing XBMC's data first, then run the DroidBOX Wizard. See https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/new-droidbox-wizard-update/ for both procedures.
2nd possibility - your current XBMC install just won't behave with playback. In which case, check the link above, and instead of clearing the data for XBMC, click the uninstall button, then install the XBMC app again via the procedure here - https://droidboxforums.com/threads/original-xbmc-v12-frodo-for-imx6-android-devices.38/ . Run the wizard, see above for the procedure, then check if video playback is behaving. Definitely an iMX6?
