Hi all. This is my first post. Great forum by the way.
My problem, I have the earlier M8 box which worked great up until recently. Gotham suddenly didn't work anymore. The system was freezing and I ended up having to do a system reset.
Fast forward to installing Kodi. This was great at first, now I'm having problems with that. When its installed none of the film repositories are there. I've sussed out how to install those so that's fine. What I can't get my head around is that everytime the power is turned off at the socket, i.e bedtime, the next day when the box is powered back up, Kodi has gone? I have to reinstall it.
Am I missing something here? Surely once it's installed it should stay in there?
I'm pretty savvy with computers but this android thing has me stumped I'll admit!
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers Paul

Somewhere over the rainbow
Hi I've found if you power off at the wall it goes to a factory pre-set, I would leave it in stand by. Also sometimes because of power being off it changes wifi network number too (strange).

Ah thanks for that. I never thought of that! Makes sense though now you mention it. Standby from now on then! Cheers

Also worth a shot:
Get Kodi how you want it, and reboot.
Wait a full FIVE minutes.
Open Kodi.
Assuming it has retained your changes, the next time you reboot, run Kodi after FOUR minutes of waiting. You may well eventually find that you need to wait 30 seconds, or 45 etc etc before opening Kodi. Still not sure why, but sometimes the apps are available to launch before all areas (partitions? folders?) are accessible/mounted.

Thanks for your input. I'll give that a shot later. I'll confess to being totally lost on this. I'll sort it eventually, I don't give in easily!

Thanks again

So are you saying, if for instance I wanna move my box to the bedroom it will lose all my settings as I've had to unplug from the living room and plug into the bedroom.?

Oops, I just realised you are talking about the M8.......I must have popped into the wrong forum by accident.
Does this happen with the T8 as well?

@Darren Smith - I've got quite a few devices here, and moved rooms, houses and countries with them. So far at least, no data has been lost. Date/time is the exception, and sometimes I find I need to wait a minute or three after booting up, before opening apps that have config data stored. Fingers crossed it'll go fine for you.
