bmac, please see our new thread regarding Firmware Files.
I have this issue with wifi on my X7 B351-BT after flashing firmware recommended by Droidbox to fix xbmc problems. I am connected through Ethernet, but when trying to turn on wifi the setting switched back to off without displaying the information allowing me to input my router info.

Can anyone please help me with this because it makes the potentially very good X7 worthless, just over a week after I bought it!

I look forward to a reply. Regards, Paul

Can you tell me what did you choose when you trying to flash your device

Thanks

Ahmed, you or one of your colleagues asked me to flash the following firmware - EKB311 . This loaded a different xbmc interface, but lost the ability to input wifi settings into the android home page settings.

I was then given the following advice -

You should find that File Manager HD is installed on your device, if so, go to the Options menu, tick Root Explorer (grant root access when asked), then tick mount system folders.
navigate to the /data/misc/wifi folder
Scroll to the wpa_supplicant file and click & hold the OK button
Select delete and confirm you're sure
Turn off your X7, reboot and go back to the WiFi settings page, you should now be able to turn it on and select your WiFi network.

There was no data/misc/wifi folder file, but I found the wpa_supplicant file in another part of the settings and deleted it as suggested. However, this made no difference.

So, can you suggest another option to get wifi access back, as the x7 is not useable as it is.

Regards, Paul

Ahmed,

I don't understand what you are asking me to do. The firmware link in my previous posting was what you guys gave me during an email conversation. Please email me directly and tell me how to sort the wifi problem with my x7.

Has Ahmed replied via e-mail yet? Have we confirmed it is definitely an EKB311 version of the X7 that you own?

We've stopped publishing links to our firmware, as competitors have been selling lower quality boxes with our firmware on there, and charging higher prices. See Firmware Files for a post on this, sorry the link was provided in our previous reply to you here. I've edited your post to remove the URL.
