Hi guys, how can I tell if my IMX6 box is android or Linux? And what is the difference? Please don't get too techy, I'm a novice. Also how can I get films to play smoother without slight jumps? Thanks in advance for your help.

If your device does NOT boot straight into XBMC, then it is definitely Android based.

If you click on the Programs menu in XBMC, and see an entry for Android Applications, then it is definitely Android based.

No need for the correction btw, MCE (Media Centre Edition I think) is a custom firmware build that uses Linux, so we tend to use either term interchangeably.
