1channel is a broken and others won't work either saying script error. I'm quite new to the xbmc thing. Thought the droidbox x7 I got on Tuesday was plug and play.

In general our devices are plug and play. If it was just one add-on not working, I would suspect that we need to wait for the author of the add-on to release an update.

However, as this is more than one, we'll need to check a couple of things.

Can you open the internet browser, and try visiting a website please? If a website loads properly, then we know the internet connection on your X7 is working OK.

If websites don't load, are you connecting via WiFi or Ethernet to your home's network?
If sites load fine, have you run both the X7 and Fix Me Now packs from our DroidBOX Wizard? Assuming you have, the next step I'd try is resetting XBMC's config - see http://www.droidboxforums.com/threads/resetting-xbmc-to-a-just-installed-state.27/ for the steps required.

Can you removed or delete the " broken " addons in the repository ?

On Android devices, yes.

XBMC>Add-ons>Enabled Add-ons>Videos Add-ons (unless it is a different type of add-on...)>Click on the add-on you want to remove, select uninstall.

Thanks. However, what about the add-ons designated "Broken" and not add-ons I selected ? I just want to " clean" the listing of all add-ons ( enabled, Broken and not selected). Is there a way to remove or delete " Broken" ?

I've not tried before, I assume that instead of selecting

ah, just noticed an error above, that should eb XBMC>System>Add-ons, apologies, I'll update that post.

Anyway, I assume the workflow would be XBMC>Add-ons>Disabled Add-ons> etc etc to uninstall add-ons that are marked as broken and have therefore been disabled at some point.

I think there is a bit of a cat and mouse game going on with the IP,s Friday I couldn't install mashup from file manager but Sunday I was able to do it. Now primewire didn't work, no URL and go_movies has no content. Icefilms works but no metadata just a blue file.
I think you can delete addons or repos from a maintenance wizard but I would be careful deleting repos they may be needed for other addons. I think if you follow silentlyscreaming you might be safer but I prefer to disable rather than uninstall and I don't think they show in video addons if disabled ( could be wrong ) !

@Graham I'm assuming you've already seen the IceFilms disable metadata fix elsewhere, or here - IceFilms fix (8th September 2014)
You're right re disabling add-ons being safer/obviously more reversible. I tend to prune my installs quite harshly sometimes, especially on older Android phones where storage is at a premium (did you ever use an HTC ChaCha, virtually unusable due to lack of RAM and ROM!).

I have a htc flyer which I wouldn't use Xbmc on but on my droidbox I don't like to uninstall because I don't know which addons are used by others for instance don't know it FTV requires filmon which it uses. I have tried icefilm fixes ie meta data on and off but no difference, it does work but no artwork. Last night I 're_entered custom domain and 1 channel started working again. I think in the UK the $ is limiting access to some addons so I just use the many options still streaming as when I take it to Spain the IP may be less restrictive.

Ah, I'd not realized Icefilm was working in terms of videos. Mine won't work unless I turn metadata off, which then disables downloading covers, background info etc etc
Last I heard Spanish ISPs weren't under court orders like the major UK ones, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it remains that way. I'm in Kazakhstan right now, where political sites are often blocked, but no one cares about the source of your entertainment media. Back to Britain in a few months, when that swaps around...

As I have said I intend to use this box in Spain for guest in rental apartment so just a short question related to addon disable, is there any way to multiple disable addons like deleting photo's on a mobile with a tick box setup or do I have to go to enabled addons and configure each one as disabled separately.

If you temporarily plug in a USB keyboard, you can speed up the disabling of a lot of add-ons individually
Get to the list of add-ons then highlight the first you want to disable...
1st add-on: C, Enter, Down twice, Enter, Escape
Further add-ons: C,Enter,Enter,Escape

Another approach would be to copy the add-ons directories (navigate to //Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/addons/ , though org.xbmc.xbmc could have a different name) that you want to disable to a different location. This is the same as uninstalling them really, but you'd be able to reinstall them by simply copying the directories back to the original path.

One other thing to consider (unless you're a live-in landlord at the apartment) would be sharing the X7's filesystem over the network with Samba (see the Samba Filesharing For Android app in this thread - Local Network-Based Apps ). You could then presumably open up some ports in your modem/router to forward on external requests (from your PC on the internet) to the X7 (best to give it a static IP address on the apartment's network if so). Add in a dynamic IP address service like noip.com and your tenants wouldn't even have to check what their external IP address is at the time.

Or check out AirDroid (see the same thread), even with their free account you get a certain amount of over the internet access to your nominated Android device from a PC's web browser.
Anyway, a couple of ideas that might enable you to reconfigure your DroidBOX device remotely, without having to visit the apartment necessarily.

Thanks for all that I am having the internet put in apartment next month, until then I won't know the IP but I will be in uk and remote access may be the way to go. All I want to give is access to filmon for uk tv or FTV but you just know they are there for a week and will want to experiment so the less I have on the x7 the better. I want to know all this because when I get set up other apartment owners without uk tv are going to be asking me about droidbox ( better they all ask me than flood you ) . Thanks again for your help with this.

Another option than FilmOn is something like TunnelBear. They have a $2.99 a month option which I think allows one Android device, or $4.99 a month for one PC and two Android devices. That way you can use iPlayer and other UK only apps/add-ons without being in Britain. Have a search of the forum and blog, I think I wrote up the process somewhere.
Re IP address, I didn't mean your external one (on the internet), I meant setting the DroidBOX to have a manual (static) IP address on your home network. Ah, just realized it probably won't be the same modem/router... ignore me :)
