Hitting the home button on remote to my knowledge has never force closed kodi as that can only be done in settings/apps/dbmc/force close. Glad you got there in the end.

Hi guys, the Android 6.0 update were not supposed to go live. We were performing testing during weekend and it was left live. The version you currently having installed is a prerelease version. Don't use SD card to be formated as internal memory, then all your date files will be stored on SD Card instead of ROM. The memory error message will only popup if you choose not to factory reset. We are still looking into this.
Please report any bugs and issues found and we will look into fixing them.

Suggestion @admin . Make a sticky and invite bug reports from those who have downloaded it. Presumably the download has been removed now?

Kodi:

* Display Now Playing Video in Background doesn't work
* Home button on remote before close Kodi, now minimalise

^Unable to login on DroidBOX Market
^Very high RAM Memory usage (80%) after about 2h of using only Kodi
^OTA Updates - Error fetching update info: Invalid ROM ID (DroidBOX-T8-Mini-6.0)!
^After boot up it's go to SD card connected screen
^Kodi 17 RC unable to change screen resolution but maybe this will change in release version (Already installed by DroidBOX team)

Nothing else on my T8 Mini, so far so good.

When you insert an SD card for the first time in an Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) device, the device will prompt you to choose to use the card as Portable Storage or Internal Storage.
Select Portable Storage if you frequently swap your SD card between devices or use your SD card for media storage only (photos, videos, music).
Select Internal Storage if you want to completely extend your existing device storage with the SD card and need the card to store large applications, games, and their data

If you're being told there's not enough storage space on Marshmallow, it might be related to your SD card. Although Marshmallow now allows SD cards to be formatted as internal memory, there are still apps that cannot be stored on the SD card. Head to Settings > Apps. Here, you can press on any app and then tap Storage > Change and select SDCARD. If the SD card option doesn't appear, it's because the app cannot be stored there and must remain on your actual internal storage.

If this isn't the problem, then you need to make some space on your device's internal memory another way. Clearing app caches is a good place to start. Some devices allow mass cache clearing. Head to Settings > Storage. If you see Cached data here, press it and then press Delete in the dialogue box that appears. If you don't see this option, you will have to go the manual route. Head to Settings > Apps / Application manager and press on any app. Then, select Storage and press Clear cache. You will need to go down your list of apps and clear the cache on as many as you can before you succumb to mind-numbing boredom.

Once you've cleared out your caches, there will hopefully be considerably more space. If you still need more, you will have to start uninstalling apps and deleting media. Make sure you backup any files you wish to keep for later, though.

It seems that it is a fairly common issue with Kodi on Android 6 devices.
I know that I have experienced the problem on X96 box.
I had heard of this fix but felt it worthy of a share.

In settings - video - acceleration - turn off AMCODEC

back up out of it and try again.

If problem persists do the same for the third codec.

Restart Kodi. Check your settings have stuck and try again.
