Hi,
Hoping for some help with my box which seems to randomly lose wi-fi connection. No other appliance on the network is affected. I am using a static ip snd have checked for conflicts. If I reboot the box it seems to cure it for a day or two before needing to be done again.
A little while ago I reset everything but am back to square one again.

What Android box are you using? How far away is the box to your router, is there anything in between such as a wall or floor? Have you tried changing the wireless channel on your router?

It is a T8 SE. I have tried changing channels which only made things worse. The router is two rooms away so ethernet connection is not possible. Therefore I am using a wifi extender ( netgear wn2000rptv2) for the lounge where the box is. Speed is between 8 and 10 mps, depending on time of day, so wouldn't have thought that was the issue. Problem has been showing for a couple of months now. Prior to that it was working perfectly.

My guess is it is the extender if changing channels is greatly affecting it. The extender should be in the middle area between the router and device for the best performance, otherwise the extender may not have a strong enough signal. So if the router is at one side of the house, the extender should be somewhere in the middle, and for example the T8SE at the other end. Have you tried connecting another device to the extender when it disconnects to see if the extender is the issue?

Yes, I have both a tablet and a laptop neither of which are affected if the box drops the signal.

I have done a factory reset. Changed the wifi channel number and nothing has changed. The box still keeps dropping the connection. I have done a speed test and am getting 11,2 download speed. Other devices work perfectly so it is not a network problem. It is now making watching anything almost impossible. I have even tried reducing the quality on youtube and it makes no difference. The symble for wifi is showing it is connected but the apps keep saying there is no internet even though there is on other devices.

After writing the above post I spent a very fustating night rebooting the box numerous times, changing the channels on the router, moving boxes around, all to no result. An evening of buffering and contantly lost signals. I defaulted to streaming on my laptop ( on the same connection) without any problems at all. Today I have taken a netgear powerline from elsewhere in the house and have connected that via ethernet. It works just fine even when using a vpn which I previously wasn't using. I would keep the powerline where it is but it is needed elsewhere. This is so diappointing as the T8Se was working previously by wifi without all the hastle. Could this be a firmware or a hardware issue?

I have the same issue we need an update for these boxes I bought 2 please help.
I would think it highly unlikely there will be any firmware updates for these boxes.
In my view, issues relating to wifi extenders are not confined to these boxes. I constantly get wifi drop outs and no internet connection messages on phones and tablets in more remote parts of my house, despite the wifi signal showing as strong. Certainly on the phone, the mobile signal cuts in overriding wifi.

Have you tried re-fleshing with the firmware in order to fix the WiFi issue as well? What exact issue do you have with the clock on the device?

Would you be able to try connecting it via an ethernet cable? Tina reported the same issue if you read earlier in the thread, and an ethernet cable seemed to be a workaround.

The weather widget became a problem quite a few years ago when Yahoo (the company that provided the weather forecast info) changed their API, I believe.
If a weather widget is important to you, installing a different launcher from the Play Store, and then a weather app that features a widget should sort that out free2saute.
