Thanks for the reply. It sounds exactly like interference. In order to try and isolate the cause, I'd already gone through all the options above. The cause is definitely the device itself, I'm wondering if others have encountered this or maybe I just got a bad unit. I'm considering a converter...

Hi I connect my device to a stereo player using rca cables, when the sound is turned up slightly there is a crackling/hiss sound in the background. On connection to tv with hdmi everything's o.k. My question...is this a known issue with this device (S905W)? Obliged for any help
