Any news on updates. Most builds require 16 to work and this issue is virtually rendering dual boot pointless.

I'm got a T8-S and Openelec runs great and which add-ons do you mean.
As soon as a new version and tested droidbox will make it available.
Dual boot is good as you can set one up for child friendly and the other for a more Adult side.

having a few issues myself with 15.2, many links not working, addons in some repos missing ie mucky ducks repo, i ran wookie in 16.2 on android and no problems, i dont think its the addons but the wookie build but this is only a guess.

If I wish to install a Amlogic beta, how would I go about it? Also, would this void my warranty? Plus, if it knackered the box, would a factory reset sort it?

I think putting any non official firmware on would void the warranty gaz.
There is no guarantee a factory reset would recover the box either - the firmware update may have gone too far. However i think you can create a recovery sd card to try and recover a bricked box if the worst case scenario occurs. There may have been a droidbox blog article on this or see if google turns up something.

If you go to file manager and check mucky ducks ULR. If it's not there add it to this
h**p://muckys.mediaportal4kodi.ml
Change ** to 'tt'
This works in openelec 15.2 all the same add-ons. See if it helps
