Without having tried it, my gut reaction would be that Nigelar is likely right.
That said, we do have our W10 device that runs Windows. As it is seen as a normal PC by Windows, I suspect we'll have more joy there. If no one here has tried it themselves, and I don't come back with an update in the next week, please do poke me via a PM, this counts as an exception to the msg in my signature.
It may be that removing Rooted status from an Android device is enough (using the option in SuperSU), however it is the implied portable status of Android devices that companies assume that may prevent it from working with HDMI at least. I'd not want to watch if it was composite video (phono/RCA socket instead of HDMI) only.
