I have installed the latest version of KODI and also updated DBMC. Both applications freeze when installing builds. They also freeze when doing any kind of search. I have moved the Droidbox where I can connect direct to my router via Ethernet. It works fine there. I have used other brands of Android boxes in this same location with no problems. Using T8-S plus @ 35 mps. Any ideas why the device locks up over WIFI?

To help diagnosis, can you run a speedtest over both wifi and Ethernet. The Ookla speedtest app is good , you can get it from Google play if not pre installed . Check also if the router sends signals over multiple channels, it may be worth trying another channel.
I am using a different speed test on my phone currently standing next to my box. I have used Ookla in the past and other apps for testing speed in the past. The lowest reading I get on wifi is 29.83. The fastest has been 49. Both should definatly be strong enough.
Ok. What we can say is that a 14.92 Mbps wifi speed is unlikely to be the cause of the box crashing. That is fast enough and way in excess of the minimum needed to view, for example HD streams. It is about right for these sort of boxes, the wifi technology is not the greatest. But it is perfectly adequate (FYI I get about the same on wifi on my box).
So we have to look elsewhere for the cause.
You say that the box works fine when connected by Ethernet. Does this include installation of builds? Which builds did you install?

If the problem of freezing persists then probably best to make a call to support there is always a possibility of a fault with the wifi chip.
One thing you might check is whether the box date/time is syncing correctly. I have seen issues with the date defaulting to 1/1/1970 which can affect google play and speedtest (get no network connection message). In fact it happened to me today. Resolved by fiddling with the automatic date/time setting in android settings then rebooting.
