Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD passthrough

Hi,

I just bought iMXQpro v2.0 and whilst I am able to play dolby 5.1 and DTS I cannot get the device to passthrough Dolby Atmos (5.2.1).

My hardware set up is HDMI from iMXQpro to HDMI input of my AV and HDMI out from AV to my 4k TV. So far the AV sees the signal as stereo only.

For the same hardware set up, if I substitute iMXQpro by another media player, I get Dolby Atmos on my AV. I conclude that there is nothing wrong with the hardware set up but the problem is in setting of iMXQpro, providing the device is able to passthrough Dolby Atmos signal.

Can you please let me know if there are specific settings both for the box and Kodi which I need to use.

Hi,
my attempts to passthrough Dolby Atmos in Kodi under Android OS were not successful, however, running Kodi under LibreELEC brings in additional sound options which allow for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD sounds as well as Dolby ATMOS.

Unfortunately as you have to switch to LibreELEC OS to achieve this you will loose your Android settings. This becomes particularly problematic if you are using the DroidBox Air Mouse, there does not appear to be an option to adjust the mouse sensitivity.

If anybody knows of a solution to the sound problem for Kodi under Android OS please let me know. Switching between the operating systems is not the best way to handle this.

Openelec and LibreELEC are best for DD HD and DTS master HD. On the android side it's something that's missing, but you shouldn't loose anything when you switch over. Plus you can just power off in LibreELEC and next time you boot up it should go straight to LibreELEC.

David, thank you for your comment. Perhaps I was not clear enough when I wrote that you loose Android settings. I refer to the fact that the system settings in Android do not propagate to LibreELEC or KODI settings under Android to KODI in LibreELEC, presumably they do not share the same config file. In fact the same applies to DroidBox Media Centre. Each needs to be configured individually but unfortunately with varying number of options available, for example in LibreELEC there is no option to adjust the Air Mouse sensitivity which renders the mouse almost unusable. Am I missing something ??

Can you let us know the controller you're using, we'll check if it is possible to adjust the sensitivity on the controller itself. One quick (related) thought... if you have LibreELEC set to use a 4K/UltraHD resolution, this would give you a lot more pixels to move across from one side to the other. If you've set up 4K, but don't actually play that much 4K content yet, try lowering the resolution and see if it helps with cursor speed.

Chris, I do have the video output set to HD. If I set the output to 4k I have a problem not only with sensitivity but also with the size of the pointer, this in both OpenELEC and Android OS. I am using the DroidBox VIP Plus mini keyboard.

Sorry for the delay, there is an add-on at http://openelec.tv/forum/124-raspbe...less-mouse-usbhid-mousepoll-0-required#135577 that can alter mouse settings within OpenELEC, not sure if it will do what you need, but worth a try.

One other thought, is it possible you're holding/controlling the cursor in an unusual way?

shows the controller being used, small movements from the wrist should be enough to move the cursor in a controlled manner, you don't need to wave your arms too widely.

Chris, thank you for your reply. I did try the script but whilst it seemingly installed it did not wont to run. And so unfortunately this does not appear to be a solution.
I was wondering if it would be appropriate to move part of this thread regarding the mouse to a more relevant location in the forum ?

Yes after I got that marshmallow update on t8mini my pointer is very small and sensitivity is bad

Sounds like Android is in 4K @fiveznuff , that's when I noticed the cursor size dropping (same amount of pixels still, but displayed in a much larger (pixel count) scrreen) and it takes more movement of your arm/remote to traverse 3840 pixels than 1920. If you're not playing 4K videos, consider dropping Android's resolution to 1080p
@vlada This forum software doesn't allow splitting threads, but otherwise it'd be a good idea, yes. Sorry for the delay in response. The only other route I can think of in LibreELEC would be if your TV has a USB socket, supports the remote, and supports CEC. If you plugged the remote control's USB dongle into your TV, and moved a cursor on the screen, then try turning the DroidBOX on. I don't know if mouse/air mouse type data is sent nicely via CEC (using the HDMI cable), but if it doesn't work straight awaty, check (in LibreELEC) System>System>Input devices>Peripherals for options.
