It will need a new version of spmc first since dbmc is based on that.
The spmc author is asking currently for views on graphics from the user community for spmc 17. So this suggests work is underway to create a version.
Apparently Kodi 17 has caught up with android for that release, so it will be interesting what advantages SPMC offers going forward, especially since the developers main focus is on nvidia shield boxes rather than generic android.

Is anyone having issues installing this final relese on there DroidBOX?
Iv'e been able to install it on my phone, but having difficulty installing it on my ver 2 TS-8 Plus. Google Play just says Downloading (might be a load / demand issue), and direct from the kodi web site keeps failing to install stating that the file might be currupted. Tried cleaing CACHE and rebooting to no affect..

Just in case the issue is still there (things to try when Play Store won't install), and for future visitors to this thread:
Force Stop the app (or reboot) and go straight to Play Store
If you've got any important data backed up, uninstall the existing version, head to Play Store and try again
If you can find a LEGITIMATE source, download the APK manually. For Kodi, https://kodi.tv/download/ , verison 17 is at http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/android/arm/kodi-17.0-Krypton-armeabi-v7a.apk and http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/android/arm/ for 16.1 . If it won't install, again try uninstalling existing version first.
