Hi all, first post:)

Is there a way to get my Droid box (T95Z plus) to see my network shares while using ipvanish?

I can't save any geolocked content at present as Kodi can't see my NAS.

Thanks for any replies!

I guess that few users here have such a specific set up. So you may be waiting a while for a reply unless one of the admin team spot your question. In the meantime, see if you can get a reply from ipvanish support.

Thanks for the reply.

IPV support told me it could not be done - yet since I said it was working through windows 10 so that wasn't strictly true, support has gone quiet :(

It also means I have to keep turning my VPN on and off to watch all my media. I have all my music and downloaded content on my NAS box for convenience.

You've got an Android box there by the way, rather than an actual DroidBOX.
I booted up a T8 Mini, connected to an IPVanish server, confirmed connection with a visit to http://www.myglobalip.com/ in the browser ( WhatIsMyIP.com had had too many requests from that VPN server to show info). See what you mean, I tried both TCP and UDP connections just in case, but when the network connection to the VPN server is made, you lose the original local network access. You might be able to make the network share public (so it is accessible via anyone on the internet (don't forget to lock down security etc)), have the right ports forwarded by your router, and have your DroidBOX attempt to access the files externally (so http://dynamicIPredirector.example.com:12345 instead of http://192.168.1.100), then send the data back to you. The network transfers would be limited by your VPN connection's upload bandwidth, and require a fair amount of experimentation, but something to try if the supplier of your box doesn't have any advice to offer.

Thanks for the information but I'm a bit worried about doing that as I'm just a keen amateur!

I'm going to try a Z83 windows10 box and see how I get on with that!

Hi , I wondered if there had been any further news on this, as I have the exact self same issue, a bit frustrated as I switched to the Android box (from am Amazon Firestick) to allow use of IPVanish , only to find that the non cloud use for my new toy , is hampered by having to switch off and on the VPN ,

Thanks
