That's why Ares maintenance has been the best Kodi cleaner around since its existance:)

Eye opening. It makes sense when you read this. I never zero CACHE, but do have auto clean selected within Echo Wizard. Time to turn it off.

EZ Maintenance addon i recommend, its in the schism repo, it will do all the auto cleaning at bootup.

I have that also. But now after reading the above link to the article - It looks like theres no need to regularly clean and delete. Im gonna give it a go.

Would be interesting for a few members to actually do nothing for 1 month and then let everyone know how the box performed????

Just an idea. I am going to not maintain at all for the next month.

OK - My month is up. I didn't do any maintenance at all. I watched as my thumbnails grew in size and my packages. I did not see any difference at all in speed, performance or anything. I did notice the thumbnails loading faster as I didn't delete in maintenance which means they don't have to download and re-populate.
So there I have it - NO DIFFERENCE.
I will now probably clear everything and only operate maintenance on a monthly basis - OR EVEN LONGER.
Hope this helps

I must admit that I have cleared cache and packages, but not Thumbnails. Load time is a quicker as thumbnails do not need to be downloaded every time. I'll keep an eye on it. Unsure whether or not to clear them. Packages and CACHE I think need to be cleared.
