I just bought this unit (actually on Feb. 9). trying to make the long story short, while watching a movie, it looses audio (the only thing you hear is a scraching noise). Even ifI shut the unit off and restart it does not correct the prob. What I suppose to do?

Whereabouts on your box are you watching a movie, a standalone android app or in kodi, if in kodi- which addon?? Elaborate a bit raymon

in kodi either from exodus or zen. By restarting the box, I see the Droid logo but no sound at all. I checked w/t the tv by changing the hdmi port ( from 1 to 2) I even checked w/t another droid box and the prob is not there. obviously something wrong w/t the box. by the way it`s 5.1 w/t Jarvis 16.3 (that actually is 16.1)

I tried w/t diff hdmi cables as long as diff boxes..... I think that the whole prob is w/t exodus and zen addons both of them giving the no sound prob........
soonest I uninstall both of them no prob.

Does the sound work with android apps like youtube and spotify or similar?

w/t those addons that I mentioned above, the box freezes. If I shut down the box and turn it on again it takes about 30 secs to be normal again. Same thing happens w/t two other boxes I have. To me seems that those addons creating the problem.

It will not be the Addons. Hundreds of thousands use them with out the sort of problems you mention.
Tell us a little more about your box. Is it the Droidbox t8 plus version 1 or version 2?
Which version of Kodi or dbmc are you running?

Hi, You have two versions on the android side of your box Kodi 16.1 and Dbmc 16.3.0, Dbmc is Droidbox's fork of (spmc), Dbmc has been updated to 16.6.0, you could try that to see if it solves your problem, you can get it from the Droidbox market app on your box.

Or try going into settings (two cogs) > sound > digital sound > and try the different sound settings there.

unfortunately it updated on dbmc 16.6.0 and it has not pvr simple client......
is there any way that I can downgrade to an older one?
