Please note this file is for T8 Mini and T8-S Plus v2 devices ONLY.

Do not flash this file if you do not know which device you have.
This is only required for customers who received the earlier firmware towards the end of February where the OTA ID was incorrectly set. If the OTA Updater application now complains of the Wrong OTA ID, this is the fix.

Download https://droidboxcloud.co.uk/index.php/s/DrUrGMBH1L2R2RT/download and copy the ZIP file (no extraction of the archive please) to an SD memory card.
OPTION A
Use the Update & Backup app to initiate the flash

Click open the App drawer (a circle with six dots) from the Android launcher homescreen.
Open the UPDATE & BACKUP application

Click the SELECT button

Click the T8-SPlus_t8Mini_fix_ota_id.zip entry

Click the UPDATE button

Confirm you're certain you want to update

OPTION B
You can also use Android's Recovery Menu directly if you prefer.
Turn your DroidBOX off insert the SD memory card into the slot on the right.

Hold down the recessed switch towards the back of the case, on the same side as the memory card (a round hole, paper clip or sturdy cocktail stick should be fine). Please don't release the switch for quite a while.

Turn the DroidBOX on, and keep the recessed switch held down for a good 15/20 seconds. If Android's Recovery Menu appears before then, you can release the switch.

Select the option to Apply update from EXT

Now the Update from sdcard entry.

Finally select the T8-SPlus_t8Mini_fix_ota_id.zip file

Once the process completes, select the Reboot option.

When you open the OTA application you will now find you are back in the same group as other T8-S Plus v2 users, meaning future OTA updates won't require this step again.

I can't use OTA Update so tried following here but just keeps erroring.

But it seems as though my box has a faulty sd card reader as no SD card is detected when inserted. Tried 3 now. If I put any SD card in a USB Card Reader then use USB then the card is detected. Tried using the above update this way and using a USB stick but these ways still error.

The error i get is:

E:failed to map file
Installation aborted.
OTA failed! Please power off the device to keep it in this state and file a bug report!

You shouldn't need to flash that file with a new purchase. OTA ID was the issue mentioned on screen?
In terms of timing, we're around from 9am - 6pm (live text chat/phonelines are 10am-5.30pm), and aim to reply within 24 hours, more often it is a few hours (in terms of those hours we're in the office).

I am getting the same error on my box now. But when I try to download the fix, it is not available. Can you please put it back on the driodboxcloud site?

This isn't a new OTA update. It was for a fix for a specific problem that occured in early in 2017.
If everything else is working ok on your box I would suggest no action is necessary.
There hasn't been a t8s V2 OTA update to a long time.
