Thanks for your reply. I am connected via HDMI with PCM checked in 'digital sounds' settings in android.

In Kodi I have checked 'allow passthrough' and "DD (AC3) capable receiver". My receiver is detecting DD now but the playback is unwatchable.

When I am using SPMC and older versions of Kodi I was able to change the 'audio output device' and 'passthrough output device' in Kodi audio settings (in my working set up of SPMC I have selected "android, PCM). In Kodi 17, this is in grey so locked as "android, audiotrack" (which was never an option in older versions). From what I can see, this is the only difference between my working SPMC settings and my Kodi 17 settings.

Extra info: when I check "enable audio DSP processing, playback is fine but receiver does not detect DD.

There is also no option for 'DTS capable receiver' in Kodi 17

First its set to pcm! Needs to be set to hdmi! Next you only have 2.0 channel's on!

You have to change the channels to 5.1 7.1 or whatever! Lastly most sources are not true dolby digital hd they are cheap crappie 2.0 upscale or like my stereo multi channel surround sound a cheap fake surround sound that makes all channel's work

Only real debrid velocity icefilms trakt it can give you dolby

You don't need to change channels to 5.1 or 7.1, check this link out...your amp does the decoding from 2.0.

Thanks for your response. I don't have the option for "Android, IEC Passthrough". I just have "Android, audiotrack" greyed out (have tried all 3 settings in digital sounds). Thus, I think it may be a hardware issue with the new Kodi
