Zoomtak does not offer an upgrade for my K8 tv box, purchased in August, 2016, currently running Kitkat 4.4.2. Is there a universal android 5.0 or greater update available and compatible for upgrading this box?
Firmwares are generally processor specific. And even within a processor family there are often variants, so there is no such concept as a universal firmware.
You could look at the freaktab site to see if there is a compatible firmware. The risk is that you could brick your box. A functioning Android 5 is not available for amlogic s802 processors in any case.
Why do you need android 5 anyway? I have an old Droidbox T8 and it runs everything I need on android kit Kat (4.4.2).
