Hi All

I have two MXQ Pro devices which i have kodi on them, I have one in my bedroom and one in my lounge. I want to connect an external hard drive to one of my boxes, which I have managed to do. Problem is that I want this external drive to be seen / shared on the network so that i can map the drive from my other Android tv box as well as my Windows PC.

All my boxes are connected to the same network. I was able to do this previously when I was using Kubuntu Kodi boxes and just added a share in samba.

I mainly want to copy tv series, movies etc from my windows pc to the external drive which is connected to the MXQ box but havent been able to.

Anyone have any ideas how I do this?

Nevermind I was able to find a way to fix my issue. I installed DroidSamaba, installed it on my MXq set it up and was then able to access my external drive that was plugged into my MXq from my Windows PC and copy stuff to the external. Was also able to access the external from my other MXq device in bedroom.

For future visitors to this thread, https://droidboxforums.com/threads/sharing-with-samba-smb-and-your-droidbox.8145/ is a good place to start if you're wanting to share files over your network via SMB. FTP another option, as is sharing a folder on your PC and using ES File Explorer (or similar) on your Android device to copy/paste etc. Same idea, but in reverse, so no SMB server required on the Android device.
