Last I checked, both DVD (Video) and BluRay ISOs (DVD had better support) could be opened directly within Kodi. Yes, here we go - http://kodi.wiki/view/Features_and_supported_formats#Video_player (might be an old doc, no mention of BR there).
So add the NAS's folder with the ISOs into Kodi's library (see https://droidbox.co.uk/how-to/adding-to-your-library/ if you've not done this before) and you should be good to go.

Regarding FLAC files, again Kodi should be fine playing them, see the Audio section at http://kodi.wiki/view/Features_and_supported_formats#Format_support (different part of same doc as above). If Kodi struggles, you could try n7player Music Player or Poweramp Music Player . Should be available from Google's Play Store. Ah, apparently Google Play Music supports FLAC playback as well.

If you're doing anything outside of Kodi and haven't used ES File Explorer to access network resources before, check http://www.cnet.com/uk/how-to/share-files-between-android-and-windows-with-es-file-explorer/ for more info. Obviously swap references to shared folders in Windows to your NAS!

System and then files (or depending on the skin, Video>Files) is fine for opening a video as a one off. I mentioned the library previously in case people wanted to have the posters, genre, cast etc downloaded for them.

Sorry ChrisM - your so right. I forgot to mention that I don't store or download to library, I merely open the file to watch. So ye if you want the Posters, Genre etc then ChrisM is spot on.
