Just tried updating ftmc to v29 - the latest with subtitle fix.
Older working version was uninstalled.
Downloaded the new version ok from freaktab (arm version 29)
But it will not install after opening screen, crashing back to the android home screen.
I've tried a redownload and reinstall but no success.
Anyone else had these problems or just me?
Thank you.

Hi, I have just downloaded the latest version (Arm General/AML 16.2.29) from the freaktab website, installed and working on my "old" T8 box.

Thanks for that angela.
I will have to figure out what is going on.
The previous version ran ok.

I'd uninstall any version of the FTMC app, then head to Android/Data and double check that the FTMC directory doesn't exist. Uninstalling an app should remove the directory, but I've seen it left behind before with some files deeper in (don't forget to turn on Show Hidden Files in ES File Explorer to see directories starting with a full stop).
If the directory is there, reboot (or force stop FTMC if preferred and it is running), delete it, try FTMC again

Thanks Chris. I will try that. I had uninstalled the old version, but as you say, some old stuff could be lurking around and needs cleaning up.
Will report back.

Update.
No orphan files except for a couple of log files so nothing to delete.
Tried another uninstall/reboot/ reinstall.
Initially no success. Crashed out to black screen then home screen.
Had a look at the latest ftmc.log.
This simply showed the app quitting with no errors.
Started FTMC again.
Guess what - it worked.
Why???
Who knows.
Welcome to the wonderful wacky world of android.
Whether there is anything left to load after the last few days events is another question.

Somewhere over the rainbow
These boxes can be testing at times, I have FTMC on a droidbox playon and Go V2 projector and haven't upgraded to this version as yet. I'll make sure I delete everything first before I do...

Thanks for the info.

hi all... i have just downloaded FTMC and all seems to be working fine until I install a wizard like Ares, so for I have tried to download the cosmic saints version and the pulse version but they don't seem to be implemented properly, no wallpapers are displayed in both versions and in the cosmic saints version the menu bar was titled by a letter.. i have tried to download apps individually like exodus which work better than ever but for me downloading a wizard is more convenient as it contains alot of apps for movies, sports, children's stuff etc etc... is anyone using a wizard that works properly with FTMC?

Can install krypton builds/wizards with this fork for android 4.4 devices:- http://www.filefactory.com/file/3jd56u3oq06b/EBMC_17.1_4.4.apk

Hi Nigelar, from reviews the pulse build should be compatible. i normally use wookie, but i was advised to use ares instead. i thought FTMC is the equivalent to kodi 17.3 which wasn't compatible with androids on version 4 and below

Did you uninstall any previous versions of kodi before trying the ebox install?

That parse error is probably down to lack of memory/space left on your device
