This firmware is for the T8 Mini, based on the Amlogic S905 chipset.

The download filename will show as T8-S v2 Mini, this firmware is OK to use on the T8 Mini

It may be compatible with devices from other manufacturers, but we can not take responsibility for any damage done. You are welcome to try, however if your box does not boot up, it will be your responsibility.

Do not flash these files if you do not know which device you have.

Method 1: OTA zip update via SD Card.

Download: https://mega.nz/#!3CwVlYAD!-eKvOELeUIiwfkCUjK_9aTIWDvyLbdpKtrg6g1qIHYk

and copy the ZIP file (no extraction of the archive please) to an SD memory card. The card should have a FAT or FAT32 partition.
If you find you are copying multiple files and folders, instead of one large ZIP file then please right click the download link at the top of this thread, and select Save As. You should now find you are downloading the ZIP file, rather than opening the archive.

Turn your DroidBOX off and insert the SD memory card into the slot on the right.

Hold down the recessed switch towards the back of the case, on the same side as the memory card (a round hole, paper clip or sturdy cocktail stick should be fine). Please don't release the switch for quite a while.

Turn the DroidBOX on, and keep the recessed switch held down for a good 15/20 seconds. If Android's Recovery Menu appears before then, you can release the switch.

Holding down the Restore switch on the side (behind the USB sockets), turn on your T8 Mini. DO NOT LET GO OF THE SWITCH ON THE SIDE YET.
Once you see the Recovery menu on screen, release the Restore button.
Click on the option that mentions updating from EXT.
This time, click the entry that mentions SDCARD.
Finally, click on the ZIP file you downloaded

Once the process completes, select the Factory Reset/Wipe Data option and confirm you want to carry out this operation.

Once completed, select the Reboot option.

The first time you boot may take longer than usual. Once you can see the Android launcher homescreen, please leave the device alone for 20 minutes. Do not reboot, switch to LibreELEC or power off during this time. Applications continue to install in the background and if interrupted will not resume the next time you boot up.

Method 2: Firmware Reflash with PC and USB cable

You will need a Male to Male USB cable, something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/HAVIT-Cable-Type-Male-Black/dp/B00UF8SEA0/

Download https://mega.nz/#!DDAiTCTZ!FhkJx8SlKhWfX78d4p8BqBwrIioPI4owJcwYmFNB-SU. It will be one IMG file, that should not be clicked on to open or extract, we'll use it later. If you see an error message on your PC about the image being corrupt, please close the program, the file is needed for use on the DroidBOX, rather than the PC.

Next download https://mega.nz/#!uDRkXQKT!N1FnYO6TTpIzGTPaCyGQiEpNiTBhgNEtO2Y2_sYnu9E and open it. You will be asked if you want to install Amlogic's USB Burning tool - you do.

The first time you open it, click the second menu and select English.

Back in the USB Burning Tool program, click on the "File" menu and click "Import image". Navigate to your Downloads folder and select the IMG file that was downloaded from the first link.

You'll need to wait a moment whilst it analyzes the file. You should find it automatically ticks the "Erase Flash" and "Erase Bootloader" boxes for you. If "Overwrite Key" is ticked, please remove the tick.

Now click the "Start" button.

Disconnect all cables and peripherals from your T8 Mini. Connect the USB cable to the USB socket on the T8 SE on the right side of the device called OTG, next to the Recovery switch. Then connect it to your PC and let Windows automatically install the drivers it needs.

Afterwards, the software will begin flashing the firmware. If it shows a red error message; remove the USB cable from the device, wait a few seconds, then reconnect it. You may need to do this a few times. If after say 4 times, there may be a more serious error with the device, please contact DroidBOX support.

Once the process is complete and reported as successful, you can click the "Stop" button, and disconnect the USB cable. Reconnect the HDMI and power cable and press the Power button. The first time you boot the T8 SE, it will take a while longer than usual while it is completing the first time setup, this is normal. Once you can see the launcher's homescreen, please leave the device alone for 10 minutes whilst it re-installs the applications.

Applications continue to install in the background and if interrupted will not resume the next time you boot up.
