Hi all - Happy New Year.
Heres my predicament!!!! I have the usual kodi box using Librelec side only. Im happy with my addons and the set up. I have VPN using openelec VPN manager and works spot on. What I need to know is - Im trying to get my LG Smart TV behind a VPN. I know its not android but I dont want to shell out for an android model as Ive just got it and its mint.
My box is protected but I have an IPTV set up using Smart STB but need it behind a VPN.
I can get certificates from my VPN to use open VPN but im not familiar with any routers capable as Vir==min super hub wont allow.
Any help would be great.
Dave

Hello mate, I have had my vm super hub running in modem mode with a netgear nighthawk as my router for the past few years, using a few different iptvs along the way and my isp has never come a knocking (wouldn't let them in anyway:D) have aired my views to providers regarding vpn use and the same answer back is that isps got bigger fish to fry than the end users. I too use an lg tv and a projector (when dark enough) but would not dream of using a vpn router, all your traffic/ speeds etc will be throttled going through it. I have over 200 mbps speeds and pay over £40 p/m and that would be pointless using a vpn router. Stick with digibit on your box but give the android side a go with either your iptv's apk or you could try xciptv, this is a new apk and runs the smoothest out of them all imo, just need ur providers host addy and your user n pass:- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nathnetwork.xciptv&hl=en_GB

Thank you Sean99. Sorry I didn't reply, Ive just got back home from Holiday. Ye Ill keep things simple. TBH Digibit running through OpenVPN on LE side is giving me regular 44mb so its good. I have two IPTV services on my LG. The good news is one ov them is actually running behind a VPN. Its just me wanting the other one protected but hey!!!! cant have it all mate.
Thanks again
Dave

No probs Dave, this weekend has been the worst so far regarding isp blocking and tracking of m3u streams across most iptv services. P Player and other apks are being tracked so have heard, stick with L E as it should give you your best option.
