    Success.. changed search to rk2388 root 5.1, and the first hit was for a apk called kingoroot, worked first time... lucky spelling mistake :)

    mac address changes

    As the title suggests, everytime i power this up the mac address changes.. 6A:48:3D:E4:23:2C, 22:9F:2E:FC:1F:7E < the last 2 days.

    OK i have been going through the list for the past few days no luck.. towel root.. root genius etc all fail. usb debugging is enabled. Tried from my pc and install apks from the google play store.

    Thanks for the reply, the firmware came from the stickied thread in this section, Q8-S RK3288 lollipop firmware.img is the filename

    After updating the firmware to 5.1 i have lost root access is there a way to get it back, can't find any info on this site or through google. It's not a major problem i only need it for reboot
