    xbmc will not open and returns to icon

    xbmc has been working fine for over a year but tonight it started to open but then went back to icon on apps page.I tried unplugging/re-plugging and waiting.then did an uninstall/re-install but still having same problem.It did first run then returned to icon on apps page. many thanks in advance...
