Before I I did the update I was able to use the droidbox media centre shortcut to open kodi, but now since the update it will only open dbmc and not kodi, I even uninstalled dbmc and it still won't open kodi, does this mean that I will only have a shortcut if I add it to my favourites?

but do you need to?
dbmc and kodi are virtually the same, apart from the different names and loading screen.
can you tell the differences?
if you have access to your kodi addons via the dbmc button why the need to do anything?

Never really tried dbmc, I know it is pretty much the same as kodi just always used kodi and my build is on that one so if it ain't broke don't fix it, I now have a shortcut on my favourites which is fine just liked it when I could load kodi using the media centre but ain't a big deal as long as everything works

Ah ok. Maybe try the alternative launcher then. you can always revert to the stock launcher if you dont like it.
