cool i made my first brick, im posting here because theres no section for the cheap china mxq pro 4k

i managed to brick my mxq and it has no reset button lmao omg cheap it nows flashes the cpu logo for a sec then repeats

and to make it worse the thing dont want to boot to the sd card to use unbricking meatheads wow im glad it was free

i was trying to do a libreelec because kodi was acting up to much and super unstable. i have flashed hundreds of pcs successfully and after a few hours of you tube and other reading i was comfortable trying this.

it went very well until finished one small message that something was missing ( which in a flash is a disaster )
then it restarted and did this now im looking and working on a way to fix it my droidbox is coming on Monday but holy crap having to put up with my wife not having her tv omg im dead time to hide

Lol thanks man, that's how my dad taught me to fix pcs you break it you fix it

I broke the cardinal rule of flashing be neked oo nope I mean don't flash a device that doesn't have a reset button or easily accessible menu

It was running like crap but now it seems that it doesn't work at all im fired

hmm i found the usb trick thats been talked about on here but no good youtube links or links to the pc software needed looks really easy hook to the pc no power its powered off usb then usb software reloads it

uh o i just made my male to male usb cord and double checked it my pc wont pick up the box lmao china crap ahhhhhhh

went through all that trouble found a website a program to program from usb software everything i make network and usb and other cords all the time you suck china
i got a box with no reset wont boot from the sd card wont read on the usb a true brick frame it i done killed it good

if your going to break it break it right or dont break it at all thats my motto

i think i lost i forced it by the board to see the usb with jumper but it still wants to fight i hate loosing

You can try flashing an IMG file via usb. It may fix it, but for Mxqpro there was many different versions so difficult to find really working one.

thanks so very much looks like i had the right burning tool, cant see my chip stupid heat sink in the way, only other unique feature is the four solder points where the reset is supposed to be and un readable scribble on the board but the boards are universal its the chips that always identify the electronics.

Ok folks someone who types better than me want to make a post about this?

Ok take 2 usb cables not charging cables regular usb cut off the ends leave the male ends now make it a foot or less, strip the wires now red to red black to black and so on matching the colors soldier the wires together put heat shrink tube with silicone I buy the heat shrink silicone because they seal better flexible etc use the software above hook your pc and the box together gently run a nail across the pins of the chip by the av inputs you will hear the sound your pc makes when you hook up a thumb drive or sd card etc the boot loader will read as something detected as to the blank nothing in the device now just load the image files and hit start
