not 100% sure but I think kodi is embedded in openelec so to get 15.2 we will need a new update of openelec, but I would not worry about it too much Ive not noticed any difference between 14.2 and 15.2

Openelec 6 is in beta testing at the moment and once fully stable you system will update automatically as long as you have auto updates on in your openelec settings. This update will bring kodi 15. If you really want it now check out the openelec wiki and you can download the beta test version and manually install. Personally I will wait till the stable version is out.

I just hope that VPN will be available, I have it working on 5.0.8, but not on the latest V5 Beta. Regards.

Sorry for not being clear above. I meant that on Monday senior tech specialists will have a look on this thread and they will try to help you out.

Sorry, should have been more specific - any news on when the OpenElec version of Kodi is being updated as we're still on 14.2 ?

Thanks

The latest OTA update does it for you, go to your OTA updater in apps in Android and run the update.
If you go to droidboxs main site and then blogs, there more info on this update which was on the 31/10/15.
Please follow the instructions and read the info on the blog. Since that update there also another one, which fixes some other issues..
Think one is the VPN in openelec.

Check out the blog..I tried to link it here but this new phone doesn't let me for some reason...

The OTA update fails for me every time. I'm attempting this in Android as instructed above and scrolling to the app marked OTA Updater. The message states 1.15 version is available but when I click on update, it flashes for a brief second (too quick to read) and does nothing.

Well I followed the manual update process which also updated the ROM version to 2 but I now find that OpenElec option is missing. Is it just me or does anyone else find this OS so soul destroying and time wasting...

Sorry to here, might be time to use the live chat function or even email the office to let them know. I'm sure they will sort it out for you. It's just a pain when it goes wrong, I've had things go wrong on the last update and lost everything. Tuck me awhile to get it back and counted to 10 a few times, but I'm glad for this forum and live chat...who helped me sort it out.

Thanks again guys.

Good luck

Any ideas on how to re-install OpenElec please? Do I have to raise a new thread. Thanks

Basically since the last ROM update the "Switch 2 OpenElec" option is now no more. It does not show up in my apps.

@Darrin Did you by any chance download the T8 firmware and manually flash it to your T8-S?

If so, you've made your T8-S behave like the single Operating System T8. Grab us for a live chat or phone call and we'll get this sorted. If you could have your order ID to hand. If it is the wrong firmware on there, we should be able to repair that in the office.
