Clean, Simple Kodi setup

Hi all,

Ive purchased an MXQ Pro 4K media player for a friend with the intention of just playing back media has has downloaded onto a local USB drive.

My friend is a real technophobe and i would like to flash the box with a lite basic version of Kodi that i can install a very simple skin on.

Is there any firmware out there that might meet my requirements? Or do i need to play around with the current Android and Kodi app pre-installed?

I would use the installed kodi. The estuary or confluence skins are straightforward to use.

Kodi with Confluence is slick enough for everyday use with playback etc.
