Hi,is it at all possible to copy/transfer the full xbmc set up from my box onto another ?
The reason i ask is that a friend of ours has seen our set up with the new update and menus etc and would like it installing on there box.
Thanks.

@Deanski Sorry for the delay. If your friend has the exact same version of XBMC and the same important bits of hardware as your set up (AMlogic/RockChip based device etc), then it should be possible.
You could try copying the XBMC data (especially the userdata) folder from your device on to a thumb drive/memory card/external hard drive, wiping his XBMC data (perhaps back it up first!) and then copying your one into the same location.

You'll want to start with ES File Explorer on both devices, and ensure that Hidden Files are set to visible (look under the tools menu on the left) with both devices.

Next, navigate to the internal SD card partition (something like mnt/sdcard probably), and then carry on to /Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/
The org.xbmc.xbmc section of that path may well be different, but it will still mention XBMC or SPMC
Long click on one of the files or folders in the org.xbmc.xbmc (or similarly named) folder, and then click Select All. Now select Copy.

Next navigate to your external device (have a look under /mnt/ again, if ES File Explorer doesn't already have a shortcut on the left for your memory card/USB thumbdrive/external hard drive). Create a new folder there, and once inside it, select Paste.

Either unmount the external storage device, or if you've not done that before, just shut down your Q7.
Plug the same storage device into your friend's machine, and open ES File Explorer again.

Same as before... navigate to XBMC's data folder and unless he is happy starting from scratch if anything goes wrong, select all the files/folders, this time CUT and paste them to another NEW folder on your external storage device. Now go back to the first NEW folder you created, that contains the XBMC data contents from your machine. Select them all, copy, then navigate back to your friend's XBMC data folder, and paste it.
Open up XBMC, and if it worked, his config will match yours. If XBMC doesn't load, reboot the device, remove your XBMC data contents from his folder, and copy back the backup version from the second NEW folder you created.

If you want something a little more automatic, you could try using Titanium Backup Root (see this thread - http://www.droidboxforums.com/threads/tweaking-apps.102/#post-224 ), assuming you're comfortable with the GUI and if both devices are rooted.

There are also add-ons available for XBMC that attempt to automate the process for you, see http://kodi.wiki/view/Backing_up_XBMC
