PLEASE NOTE FLASHING THIS FIRMWARE TO NON-DROIDBOX DEVICES IS AT THE USER'S DISCRETION.

People with non-DroidBOX devices are welcome to try this, however only errors encountered or issues created on hardware sold by DroidBOX will be officially supported.

If you are on a Mac, you may need to this first: https://wiki.umbc.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=31919091

First, please download these three files:

M8_1.7_AS.zip from https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlRdlhGu3fjihx1EN-BGePUB3xVb
recovery.img from https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlRdlhGu3fjihxzr3sOAch8DULxh
factory_update_param.aml from https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlRdlhGu3fjihxvjcJGxr-SlNuVR

Copy the three files to a freshly formatted and empty SD memory card. Make sure the ZIP file is copied as one file. DO NOT extract the contents of this file, the SD memory card should only have:
M8_1.7_AS.zip , recovery.img and factory_update_param.aml
on it.

Turn the (E)M8 off and insert the memory card. Locate the reset switch and hold it down. Please don't release it until told to.
The switch is at the far end of the AV socket on the back of your device. Please use something non-conductive to prevent any short-circuits. A used match or cocktail stick should be ideal. Failing that, a paper clip that is covered in plastic can work.
Turn the device on, and wait until you see the logo come up on your TV. Wait six seconds and you can let go of the reset switch.

Once the firmware flash has completed, you can select the Reboot option. This first boot up, you will find it takes a bit longer than usual to boot up. If any set up screens are presented, complete them and select which launcher you want to use, if asked.
Once you reach the Android launcher homescreen, please wait 20 minutes for applications to complete installing.
