Can you try a factory reset please? You'll just need a matchstick and have the room quiet enough to hear when a switch has clicked.

Once the menu appears, select the Wipe Data/Factory Reset option, follow the on screen instructions. Once complete, reboot, and assuming your iMX6 now works, complete any setup screens presented, then please leave the device at the Android launcher's homescreen for twenty minutes before clicking on anything or rebooting again (this give the device time to reinstall apps etc).
By following the instructions in that blog post I linked to. They don't involve booting into the Android OS' GUI at all. You mentioned in your PM to me that you'd already carried out a factory reset?
