Films keep pausing

Hi I wonder if anyone can help I have films on a hard dive and whenever I’m watching a film on the Kodi media player it will pause on its own I then have to press the play button and it will start again. If I play the hard drive on my tv media player it doesn’t do it

A google search of "android kodi local playback stuttering" returns lots of results so you could wade through them if the above doesn't help
