Freeview advice please

Hi again,
Linking in with my last post regarding Broadband Virgin speed - I am desperately needing to dump Virgin TV and phone line - so I am in need ov some advice regarding a good Freeview box to buy.
I need the ability to record as my wife records all the rubbish!!!!! also HD and with catch up - programme guide etc. OR YOUVIEW
I know nothing about the boxes so please any help would be great.

The humax boxes are generally regarded as the market leaders and have a good reputation.
You may find cheaper makes on Amazon. Check up the reviews first.

Btw are you able to uncouple your phone line from broadband/fibre? Some companies still insist you take both and load the fibre only option if you reduce your choices.

Hi Nigelar - Im looking at Humax Boxes now and ye your right - some good boxes. Just need simple specs but the need to record and have programme guide with catch up for the wife. The Youview boxes look good with on demand.
I rang Virgin and they actually told me if I dropped the phone line and didnt want to pay the monthly line rental - my bill would actually go up!!!!!!!
They have the monopoly Im afraid.
