Is there any way I can either turn the LED time display OFF or at least turn it slightly brighter?
Its a dull light - not very viewable at the moment - just wondering coz I would rather it be off than dull.

Most likely not useful and too much hassle, but one train of thought, if you're in OpenELEC and the black tape comes off:

System>Appearance>International>Time format
Changing that value directly effects the way the clock is shown on the LED display (think it may have been @angela that reported on this, thanks)... If it were possible to define a new standard of NO numbers being shown, you'd have less light at least.
So instead of hh:mm or h:mm , if there was a way to have null, or " : ", defined, it might reduce the LED's annoyance. Until you're back in Android.

Thank you silentScreaming - I will take a look at that. I was actually thinking ov accessing the data pages from my mac and then altering the code accordingly. But probably a big mess on. Your idea or the tape is probably the best.
Cheers
