How do i upgrade the openelec kodi version?

as the subject says, i m wondering how i upgrade the kodi to 16 in open elec?

Hi, how will i know when it is out, will it be in the OTA upgrades?
How come its not out yet when its been out for a while? the build i use has gone over to kodi 16 only and doesnt work with 5.2, so i cant have it on openelec now

You have to wait until it has been tested and proven to be compatible with openelec. 15.2 took some time to make it to openelec. Try another build if it is an issue. You can always reload your preferred build when 16 becomes available. Or run it on android for now. With a box as powerful as the t8s plus you will lose nothing, believe me.

Openelec is developed and issued by the openelec community so check their forums for news of openelec 7.0 which will have kodi 16 in it. You could always download a beta version if you really really really must have 16 on openelec.

Once we will release an update for OpenELEC all the customers will get informed and then you can update Kodi on OpenELEC side.
