Hi all

When I do an upgrade to my T8 box, All my saved settings e.g Genesis favourites are wiped out.

Is there a way to save existing settings before updating to save the chore of redoing all my favourites.

Thanks in advance.

Insert a blank SD card into the TV box.
Go to my apps and open file manager.
Click on device in the left hand column.
Click on Android.
Click on Data.
Click on org.xbmc.xbmc.
Click on files.
Click on xbmc.
Click and hold the ok button on the addons folder until the menu appears at the bottom.
Click and hold the ok button on the user data folder until it is highlighted.
Go to the bottom menu and click on the copy icon.
Click on the home icon at the top.
Click on the SD card icon.
Click on the paste icon on the top menu.
When finished copying. You will have a backup of all your .
I hope this helps.

Hope it works for you.
Just remember. After you have reloaded xbmc and run it for the first time to repeat the steps to copy your backup to the same place you copied it from.
Also make sure the SD card is large enough for the folders.
They can be over 1gb in size.
I hope that makes sense.

Hi Stana

Thanks for your help. I've got(I think) the back up files on my SD card, but I can't see an option to paste the files back to the box.

Am I doing something obviously stupid ??

Thanks

You have to run xbmc first time.
Then go into file manager and select the folders on your SD card.
The select the copy icon and navigate to the xbmc folder on your box.
Paste and overwrite the original folders.

Hi Stana

I can copy the files on the SD card but when I go to the xbmc folder the paste option does not appear.

Is there a way to get a paste option at that point ??

You have to select the folders on your SD card and the click copy.
Then navigate to the xbmc folder where the user data folder is and click paste from the top menu bar.

Are you using file manager or es manager?
Do you have copies of the addon and user data folders on your SD card.

Hi Stana

I'm using File Manager and files are on SD Card. Bigger problem just happened. Box reset and everything defaulted back to very limited menu and hardly any files.

Just trying to reinstall Wizard. Thanks meantime for your help
