Kodi smartphone remote

Hi has anyone had any issues with there kodi remotes via phone not working. I'm using the sybu kodi remote.

I have tried all the remotes i could find on the iPhone app store. still no luck.... none can find the host( even if i put it in manually). i have host turned on all settings are correct to find remote inside kodi. still no luck. tried wife phone and still a no go. works on all my other boxes.

I'm using the the droidbox version of kodi 16

is there a advanced setting file i need to turn on.

does any one control there box via kodi smart phone remotes

OK got it to work kinda. it comes down to it being the droidbox kodi made app itself. i installed a new copy of kodi 16.1 plain jane. installed my build and remote works like it used to. aka on all my other boxes. so its the droidbox kodi thats the problem just fyi

@billybob24 have you tried the droidbox share app on your smartphone and box? Your smartphone can be used as a remote control for your box and kodi using this and the app also has a few other useful functions. I used to use sybu before db share was introduced to our boxes.
