UPDATE3: New link, fine to continue with previous version if no issues found.

UPDATE2: Bug found, download link temporarily removed. Hopefully have a new download link tonight/tomorrow.

UPDATE: Simpler update method now listed here. Previous was a TAR files for the UPDATE folder, this is a ZIP file to flash normally via Android's Recovery Menu, or the Update&Backup app.

IF YOU OWN A T8-S PLUS, THIS IS YOUR THREAD, DO NOT USE FILES FROM THE T8-S THREAD!

Beta.
What does this mean? You may come across errors in untested scenarios, where issues prevent normal media playback/application processes from occurring.

Those errors will need to be reported, so they can be fixed/a workaround discovered.

If you consider uninterrupted smooth operation on your device to be critical, please wait for this update to (hopefully!) pass testing.

If you feel confident you can track, report and help assist with bugs...

This is for the DroidBOX T8-S Plus ONLY
If in Android when the Settings button (one or two cogs) is clicked you see a colourful tabbed interface, you have a T8-S. IF SO DO NOT FLASH THESE FILES.
If you see a monochrome-like icon based interface, and have a bay to insert a laptop hard drive into your Android device you have a DroidBOX T8-S Plus, this thread is for you.

In general, you need to download https://droidboxcloud.co.uk/index.php/s/ujYczZS5cJVa1kZ/download , which will give you "LibreELEC-DroidBOX.arm-T8SPlus-7.0.3-new_wifi-update.zip" (Around 120MB) .

Format an SD card (needs to be at least 2Gb) on your PC using the program downloadable from https://droidboxcloud.co.uk/index.php/s/AflcNcrqEutJfru.
You can use any card that is big enough and has a FAT/FAT32 partition, the program should help you achieve this if you're not sure how.

If you're comfortable using the T8-S Plus Browser or Chrome app to download and transfer files from the internet to a memory card in ES File Explorer, please feel free to do so.

Copy the firmware file to your freshly prepared memory card, and then safely eject (see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/safely-remove-devices-from-your-computer ) it from your PC's card reader.

Put the SD card in your T8-S Plus, then flash this ZIP file via the Recovery Menu or the Update&Backup application.
If you're not sure how to proceed, follow the steps below

There are two methods to flash this ZIP file.
The first involves using Android's Recovery Menu. If you've not used this before and would prefer to use an app, see below

Recovery Menu...
Power off.
Put the memory card in your T8-S Plus.
Now hold down the recessed switch on the right hand side of the T8-S Plus, just behind the three USB sockets.

KEEP IT HELD DOWN!

Power the T8-S Plus up, and don't let that switch go. Wait up to 20 seconds if needed,

Once offered, select
apply update from EXT
Update from sdcard
LibreELEC-DroidBOX.arm-T8SPlus-7.0.3-update.zip

Once the process completes, the T8-S Plus boots up, and you see the launcher's homescreen, do nothing for 5 minutes, then skip to THE END

IF YOU AVOIDED USING THE RECOVERY MENU, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS INSTEAD:
Alt/2nd Version
With the firmware file on the SD card in your T8-S Plus, boot into Android, click the circle with six dots, then scroll down to click on and open the UPDATE&BACKUP app.
Click the Select button
Scroll down to LibreELEC-DroidBOX.arm-T8SPlus-7.0.3-update.zip and click on it.
Now click the Update button
You'll see a warning message, click the Update button on this pop up window
Your device will reboot and apply the update without needing to enter the Recovery Menu

THE END
From here, boot/switch to LibreELEC as usual (you should now boot into LibreELEC 7.0.3, you can check under System Info)

Let us know of any issues you find with:
The interface
Additional hardware compatbility
Kodi performance compared to LibreELEC 7.0
Newly compatible/incompatible add-ons/services
Stability
Anything else of interest

Let us know specifics, whether issue occurred in LibreELEC 7.0 previously and whether any issues found always occur, or depend on other factors.
If you use a Wizard/build, try replicating the error if you install just one or two add-ons manually, builds can be tweaked for the Android OS and not mix well unless modifications are removed as a minimum.

If stability is important to you, or you aren't interested unless it is final release versions, please wait for results of testing.
