Tried to open Librelec from home screen and the splash screen appeared then the box stopped responding to the remote. Switched it off and on again and the Libreelec screen appears and the box shows a "boot" message and doesn't respond to remote. Have tried removing Bluetooth dongle and restarting but The same thing happens as described previously.

You can use the restore button by the USB ports to switch back to android. Just power off and using a tooth pick push this button in and hold. Now power back on and still holding this button in you should get the recovery menu up. Now clear cache and then click on switch to android.
Hope this helps.

After you get back to android side check storage in setting to see you have plenty of memory, if not delete some. Now try switching to LibreELEC again, it can take a bit of time to switch.
If the same problem happens again you might need to do a factory reset.

Good luck.

Thank you David I got back to Android Home page using your advice. When I tried LibreELEC it did the same thing so I suspect that there is a fault with its installation. Is it possible to reinstall it or perhaps update it manually? Your help is much appreciated.

Have you checked the OTA updater for updates, if you have run this. If it is up to date then you could try a factory reset, but this will put your box back to a new install. So you would have to set things up again.
To do this you press the same button by the USB ports and just select factory reset. After you do a factory reset you need to wait around 15mins for all your apps to install. If you power off in this time you could lose them...

Good luck

If there isn't a newer OTA update than the version installed on your device @Millomite , can you pop across to our main site and start a live text chat during the day? We can connect to the device remotely and check it over for you.
If this isn't feasible, can you drop us an email with your order ID/ref number/full delivery address and a link to this thread, we'll get to the bottom of this and find a solution, don't worry.
