Hi, since installing the Droidbox XBMC wizard upgrade I now get an icon in the top left side that says I am running out of memory. XBMC now takes up 1.81GB of memory. I have deleted all my unused apps and only have a couple of Showbox downloads. and this leaves me with 287MB free memory
I have 1.83GB of NAND flash memory, and all that space is empty and available - how do I transfer apps/data to that area? Can I add an additional an 8GB memory to the main board (I have worked with surface mount technology and adding a chip would not be a problem)?
I notice that the price of the X7 is £71.95 and the X7 Ultimate is £74.95 - do you have an exchange plan where I can change my X7 for an Ultimate??????

settings/apps/ xbmc and clear the cache. download CCleaner from the play store and run it.. if you still don't have enough free memory go back to settings / apps /xbmc and clear data reboot and re_run wizard

Also check out the Tools menu in ES File Explorer. Click the SD Card Analyst, and you'll be able to find out which directories are taking up the most space. Just two films downloaded from ShowBox could be 3Gb, you may want to download them to a USB device or memory card, see https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/faq/use-showbox-to-download-directly-to-external-storage/ for details.
Re NAND storage and the amounts shown, this blog post - https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/the-advert-stated-4-or-816gb-rom-i-see-a-lot-less-why-2/ - covers some of that.

Thanks for the info.
Looking at my storage space on my X7 (8gb box) after I have downloaded the XBMC wizard and deleted at lot of apps that I do not use, and no Show Box downloads, I have -
Internal Storage - Total Space = 3.94gb, Available = 1.69gb
NAND Flash - Total Space = 2.31gb, Available 2.31gb.
If I now download a few Show Box films my internal storage goes down accordingly but my NAND Flash space never changes.
I still show 2.31gb available and get the running out of memory icon when my Internal Storage goes low.
The blog article shows the NAND Flash memory with Apps, Download, etc. How do I move Internal storage into the NAND Flash storage area?

Re show box films, you can download directly to an external device, that should help - https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/faq/use-showbox-to-download-directly-to-external-storage/
Re your storage, I've boot my X7 up, and found this under storage:

20150409_175825_0.png

I then copied a 1.something 313Mb file to the SD icon with a 0 (see screenshot):

after this, storage showed:
20150409_180413_0.png

I moved the file then to the sd card icon with internal_sd on it,

20150409_180502_0.png

and then storage showed:

Depending where you save files/downloads/media, the storage space free will shrink accordingly.

If you put something in /mnt/internal_sd , then the NAND flash free space lowers.
If you put it in /storage/emulated/0 , then the "Internal Storage" free space lowers.

This "Internal Storage" is where Android automatically keeps most of the data.

Let me know if the number don't add up still. I wrote a post on it a while back, check https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/the-advert-stated-4-or-816gb-rom-i-see-a-lot-less-why-2/ for a bit more info on the naming and structure used in Android.

Many, many thanks for your reply, I can now use the NAND memory area. I was not aware that the NAND area was mnt/internal_sd
I had already read the post about memory and assumed the NAND area was located at /mnt/sdcard (per the section that says "The NAND area - (the /mnt/sdcard directory in this example) uses the NAND section of the onboard storage.") and therefore I could never see any usage change of the NAND memory. I suggest your findings are incorporated into the article.
Again many thanks!
