not compatible with kodi?

hello,

I recently tried to update kodi on my imx6 droid box but its saying its not compatible from the appstore? any tips on what I can use instead or how to get kodi working on my imx6

You need a minimum of android 5 to load the latest version of Kodi 17.
If you have Kodi 4.4.2 you will not be able to grab it.
There are several Kodi forks e.g. Ftmc which have some enhanced capability based on Kodi 16 which is compatible with your box.

I had exactly the same question.

Can anyone talk through how you source and upgrade to KODI 16? I have emailed for support but these boxes are 3 years old. I bought direct but don't have eBay data that far back. I am surprised it is not held against our accounts as the box was replaced during warranty.

Can anyone point us at a guide for going from 14.4.2 to 16 please?

Go to the Kodi.tv site.
Find the section for older versions of Kodi,
Find the android, arm 32 version of Kodi 16. (At which point, recommend you uninstall your old version of Kodi)
Download and install.
Be prepared to set up all your Kodi Addons again.
