Notification bars..

Hi guys, on the V2, can you see and drag down the notification bar at top of screen on the browser? You can't on V1 so it's annoying trying to find and install your downloads etc..!

Any hint of a sale on Friday? I may treat myself to a V2.. Cheers.

Hi Niko.i believe that is restriction of android 5 running on these machines. Doesn't occur on machines running Android 6 like the t8 mini. And also older machines running android 4.4.2 show the notification bar.
Note to t8s plus v1 users - Google play store apps do not auto update on this box - even if set to - so make sure you visit the play store regularly and check for updates. There have been 2 Kodi Krypton 17 updates over the last few weeks, for example.

Nice one Nige, will try later. Still trying to justify a V2 though...

Do you know if the V2 is capable of receiving an Android 7.0 firmware update, or is 6 as far as it goes?

We do not have any information as to if/when the T8-S Plus v2 will be updated to Android 7. Please keep an eye on the forums or blog post for any announcements.

It will depend on compatibility with the amlogic chipset used by these machines - something that is beyond Droidbox's control.
Android Nougat runs successfully on the S905W chip used by the Droidbox imxqpro mini for example (although there may be issues with the 4k frames per second output).
However, there may be some problems with the base S905 chip used by the t8s plus v2.
