Ordered a XD Plus from DroidBOX. Came in today with android firmware 4.4.4

I got on Amazon the other day after watching some videos about this device. I noticed they have a Plus model with faster hardware and a recent Android firmware of 7.1.1. I unboxed it, but when I start it up, it has firmware 4.4.4. Also it does not detect my 5gz wifi signal.

Could this actually be an older model, or do I need to update the firmware?
